Q. What is the difference between Scottish Folds and Scottish Straights?
A. In order to prevent any skeletal problems with the cat, either the father or mother of the kitten must not be a Scottish Fold cat. We ensure to follow this. When kittens are born, their ears are always straight. However, at around 3-4 weeks of age, some of the kitten’s ears drop. Those whose ears drop are called Scottish Fold kitten, but those kitten’s ears that don’t drop are called Scottish Straight. Still, it is not a 50/50 chance of getting straight or folded ears. For example, our last litter of 5 kittens produced 4 folds and 1 straight.

Q. Do you have waiting list?
A. Yes, we have a have a waiting list. Waiting list fee is 50% of your deposit.

Q. How do I place an order?
A. A deposit of $500 allows you to reserve the kitten that you want, to make sure that they won’t be sold to anyone else. The amount of the deposit will be subtracted from the final payment. Deposits are not refundable. We accept cash, email money transfer (Interac). The final amount must be paid minimum one day before you bring home your new kitten.

Q. Do you ship to other provinces in Canada?
A. Yes, we’ve shipped our kittens all over Canada many times. We live close to Montreal, Quebec, and we have shipped kittens many times to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan using WestJet cargo shipment.

Q. Do you deliver kittens worldwide?

Q. Is shipment cost included in the price of a kitten?
A. As in any other cattery, the price of a kitten does not include a shipment. Some of our customers fly or drive to Montreal to pick up their kitten. If you don’t want to do that, WestJet offer a service for carrying pets in a plane. For more information about that, go to http://www.westjet.com/en-ca/travel-info/pets (click “On their own cargo)”.

Q. Isn’t shipment by airplane stressful for a kitten? How do you prepare my kitten for a flight?
A. We never send our kittens by airplane unless they are older than 2.5-3 months. This is to ensure that they are healthy after the flight. In addition, about two days before the flight the cat is given natural, veterinarian approved calming drops. I also provide water and dry food for a flight. Although the flight may be a lot of stress for the cat, kittens are usually OK after the flight. based on our experience of shipping kittens using air delivery, We’ve not had any issues.

Q. What kinds of documents do I receive when I get my kitten?

Q. What should I prepare before my kitten arrives?
A. Please prepare a litter box, pack of litter, litter scoop, premium cat food, food dish, water bowl, scratching post, brush, nail trimmer and cat bed or box with a warm blanket or towel. You can also prepare cat toys, cat carrier and safety cat collar with ID tag. In addition, it’s good idea to do some homework and find a reputable vet clinic near you.

Q. How do I prepare my house for my kitten?
A. Before your kitten arrives, it is a smart idea to prepare your house for the arriving kitten.

• First of all, try to remove small objects. Just like a little baby, a kitten might swallow a small object that is lying on the floor.
• Try to hide power cords and cables. Try to put them under carpets or behind furniture.

When the kitten arrives, try to give it the most attention during these days. Then the kitten will adjust better to you.

Q. What kind of litter does the breeder use? I want to use the same as it would be much easier for the kitten to get used to. Where should I keep the litter box?
A. The breeder uses OdourLock Multi-Cat scented clumping litter. Clumping litter makes litterbox scooping and cleaning easy. There is no special preference, and you can use any other type of litter.
The litter box should be placed in a quiet, accessible location. It is a good idea to put the litter box away from the food bowl. If you have two cats, then it is good to have 2 litter boxes, one for each cat.

Q. What kind of kitten food does the breeder use? I want to use the same as it would be much easier for the kitten to get used to.
A. For the first month of their life, kittens drink their mother’s milk, which is filled with just the right mix of fat, protein, and nutrients for little felines. Starting from the second month we start to give them dry kitten food, we usually use Vetdiet or Royal Canin. However, there is no preference in a particular brand and you can choose any, but we would suggest to check the label to ensure that there is no or minimum of by-products in the ingredients.
Also please provide fresh, filtered water at all times, and wash and refill your cat’s water bowl once a day.
IMPORTANT: Please note, human food can be toxic for your pet. Take your kitten to your veterinarian if signs of anorexia, diarrhea, vomiting or lethargy continue for more than a day.

Q. Is it possible not to sterilize my cat and receive a CCA certificate?
A. Yes, it is possible. However, the price of the kitten will be higher as for potential reproduction.

Q. What about a kitten health guarantee?
A. All our kittens are vet-checked before the shipment to confirm that they are healthy (the Certificate will be attached). The kittens also are vaccinated and dewormed before the delivery. As per contract, you have one year for genetic health guarantee .No breeder can guarantee that your cat will be healthy forever, same as no doctor can guarantee that a particular human will be healthy forever.
